My Senior project Idea is to make a piece about Somalia, and how I, along with other Somalian Americans now identify with the Country and what meaning it carries for us as it goes through all of its changes. Somalia is the part of me that I never really took time to get to know more about and connect with. However, last year, my father was nominated for Prime Minister of Somalia and declined, but was after offered the position of senior adviser to the President and Cheif of Staff. He accepted has been holding that position since February. Having gone through many civil wars  for the past 2 or 3 decades, media now plays a huge part in how I feel about Somalia.  For that reason many left, taking their families with them. They moved to other countries and continues their lives elsewhere. I do admit that I would not have taken such interest if my father had not become politically involved.
