+About Me
My name is Zainab A. Hassan. That's pronounced like Daina only with a Z instead of D and a b on the end :) My major is Art & Visual Technology with a concentration in Digital Arts and hopefully a minor in Japanese. Languages are my true passion. I would love to study abroad for my Masters, which God willingly, will be Islamic Studies. I look forward mostly to learning a new language.
The work I do is heavily influenced by my religion, Islam. I recently started getting more involved in organizations and committees that focus on getting the Muslim voice heard. Since freshman year at NOVA, at about sixteen, I became actively involved in the Muslim Students' Association (MSA), and up till now still am. This helped me become more objective in terms of how Muslims in the US, or at least in VA, are viewed. I had the opportunity to hear many different opinions, the good, bad, sad, angry, hateful, embarrassed, fearful, carefree, friendly, loving, sympathizing, and of those who pity us. MSA is a real eye opener.
